sitting in his car at a stop sign. the car went off the road and went down a ravine before crashing. quinn boyer was a paramedic and co-workers are trying to come to terms with the loss. >> it is horrible to see someone who worked to help save people's lives and that to go away. it is tragic. >> oakland police are calling quinn boyer's death a homicide. there are few leads in the case. they are not sure where quinn boyer was targeted. >> oakland police chief admits an officer shot an innocent person in the face at 10th and jefferson on wednesday night. police responded to an armed robbery a block away. they say a witness led temperature to three teens. several officers pulled the weapons on the young man and an officer opened fire hitting a teen in the jaw. the trio had nothing to do with the crime. the chief says the officers

thought they were being threatened. >> the officers were directed by a witness, someone that was involved. based on that information i believe the officers had the right to follow up on that and take action whether the action was appropriate or not that will be determined. >> the chief promises a thorough review of the incident by the internal affairs division. the teen is out of the hospital. the robbers are loose. >> there is strong reaction to a comment made by president obama about california attorney general. speaking yesterday he said and i quote, "you have to be careful to first of all say he is brilliant and she is dedicated and she tough." then he said "she also happens to be by far the best looking attorney general in the country." the president was wrapping up two days of democratic fundraisers in the bay area. the comment has generated lots of reaction on twitter and on

the internet. the headline of "vanity fair" sexual harris-ment and a blog said the president is in need of gender sensitivity training. the attorney general said she is unavailable for comment. >> two lawmakers will hold a public hearing this afternoon on last year's fire at the chef reason refinery in richmond. state senator and assembly woman skinner have introduced bills to improve workplace safety and officer penalties against air pollution. several agencies will present some of their findings of how the file started and the health impact of the heavy black smoke that billowed from the fire. the meeting starts at 1:30 at richmond city council chamber and chevron announced the damaged refinery unit is repaired. >> the santa clara valley transportation authority will mark a year of construction work today for the bart silicon

has the best seats in house. >> the weather will cooperate. >> we have fog and spotty light showers in the north bay and live doppler 7 hd shows they are offshore at bodega bay and, otherwise, we are looking at the fog this morning and the golden gate bridge with visibility reduced to quarter-mile visibility and numbers are mild in the mid-50's for livermore and napa and we are going through mostly cloudy start to begin the day but we will see sunny breaks. the opener calls for 60 degrees at 1:30. the temperatures then drop through the 50's with the afternoon sea breeze with a mix of clouds and sun. if you are planning your day this morning, low-to-mid 50's to start. maybe some upper 50's in spots with more clouds by noon and we will see them break up looking at numbers in the mid-and-upper 60's around the bay and looking ahead we will bring a chance of showers back in the forecast tomorrow and sunday and it looks like monday we will warm up and

the golden gate bridge shows all of the clouds are on the deck. 54 in los gatos with mid-50's towards napa. throughout the morning hours we have plenty of clouds, a few spotty light showers but over all mostly cloudy and unsettled for the weekend in terms of the shower activity. you could see a little pit of it but this morning you notice how much warmer it is, up to five degreeses warmer since the passage of the ban. we are in between systems with a weak flow and it will be a mild afternoon. a little bit of spotty drizzle. we are looking at a couple of systems just the tail end pushing through the bay area over the weekend. throughout the rest of the day we will clear out but by tonight the next system in the north bay for our friends in cloverdale, you could have a light shower. by 9:00, it could be as far south as marin county and a few spotty areas of drizzle along the san mateo coast and through

cars. look at this surveillance video. you can see a man approach a car with a device if his hand that disabled the car's alarm and unlooks the door. the video works on mazdas but did not work on ford or cadillac. police say they have never seen figure like it. >> we have shown this video to experts in the field and everyone right now doesn't know what it is. >> long beach police say they working with law enforcement agencies across the country and vehicle manufacturers to identify the technology being use the empty. >> a police officer is being credited with saving an airport security guard from serious injury. on saturday, the woman was -- a woman attacked a security guard in honolulu. that is when the corporal sprang into action wrestles down the attacker and handcuffed her. he gave a statement to

authorities and still made the flight. he attended a wedding in hawaii. corporal rogers hand with the police department since 2006 and the superiors say they are proud of his actions. >> this could be a key day in boeingests to get the boeing 787 dreamliner in the air. the pilots could make a certification flight today with the plane's revamped battery system. all 50 dreamliners around the globe were grounded in january after the batteries on two aircraft overheated. the grounding came a week after they began nonstop service from san jose to tokyo. when they finish testing on the new battery the f.a.a. will decide if the dreamliners can return to service. >> on monday, bay area travelers will have another nonstop option flying to europe. there will be service between sfo and copenhagen and will take

longer. she is really, really lucky. >> her hiking partner is in serious condition at a hospital. he was found dehydrated and disor yenned with no shoes on wednesday night. >> a majority of american now favor the legalization of marijuana. a poll by the pew center finds 52 percent of people think pot should be legal. in 40 years of polling on the issue this is the first time the majority of americans have backed the legalization of the dug. in 1969, 84 percent opposed it. young people are more likely to be in favor of legalization. when it comes to government spending on marijuana, 72 percent say pot laws cost more than they are worth. >> the san francisco fire department is getting a big donation to make firefighters safer. the insurance company is giving $25,000 to mark 150 years in business, with the money going to research on the high rate of cancer among firefighters

francisco. >> police are hunting for the man who stole a taxicab in the city and led officers on a chase through northern san mateo county before ending up near san francisco state university. abc7 news reporter kira klapper is right now joining us live with more on the search. >> good morning to you. minutes ago, police cleared the scene behind me. it was a yellow san francisco taxicab that the man stove crashing it on campus and ran. this was a very high speed chase up to 100 miles per hour on 280. police spotted the stolen cab at 1 colon 15 this morning and the c.h.p. and pacifica police backed them up chasing the man. he went from 280 to highway one, through daly city, through pacifica, and ended up back in san francisco. he ran from the cab near san francisco state near the campus bookstore. police lost him.
